Office Touches

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Yay! Found my hardware and Nate Wellauer helped me get my curtains hung for the office!!!

Funny Story- Around the same time that we bought the flooring to do our 'make ready' to sell our house back in Fall of 2011-- We also bought 2 sets of curtain rods for me to make drapes for the upstairs family room and the downstairs family room. Needless to say- life got very busy that October and continued it's relentless march and I never got around to making the drapes.

Fast Forward to this Fall when we redid the office: I had removed the honey oak blinds from the windows because they no longer went with the room redesign, but I did not have a specific plan for the window because our 'Pride of Barbados' was Huge and provided a lovely greenscape in the windows.

Dusty Riewe redid our landscaping around Christmas and suddenly our windows let a lot more light and transparency in (Bob & I could no longer lounge in front of the window and be oblivious to whomever might walk by on the sidewalk).

So- the week after Christmas I found these lovely sheers on Overstock.com and ordered them but until now I have been in a Funk and not in a creative/decorative mood at all.

I got these awesome cubes which match my office "contemporary" scheme and color palette quite well. I have newborn blankets, headbands, wraps, and accessories for sessions stored neatly in them.
Here's a perspective of looking through the double doors of the office from the foyer.

Now that they are up I wish I would have done it much sooner- but C'est La! I LOVE how the pattern complements the other organic elements in the room as well as all the swirls!

Very much Eye Candy for me to walk by the entrance of the office and admire how the cohesive patterns play!

I just LOVE it when a seemingly unrelated plan comes together.

It reminds me of a verse that plays a HUGE part in my life: Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

God knows the very hairs on our heads and He delights in working all things together for our good. He knows the desires of our hearts- after all- He is the one who created our inmost being. Psalms 139:13

I was in the mood for a change to the blog. That is what I LOVE about this blog. All the posts stay there and just the look changes!

I will probably change it again for Christmas, but I was feeling in the mood for the Fall colors :)

Yummy Amy Butler

A new discovery... I get emails from Cosmo Cricket and one thing led to another and VOILA! I'm in LOVE with Amy Butler Fabrics! I have been eyeing them on EBay and you can buy patterns and even kits! I'm currently resisting the temptation to buy some and make myself a bag---as we all know, I have a VERY limited amount of free time, so it's somewhat impractical to even consider having time to sew myself a new bag....BUT they are Sooo YUMMY!

Aaargh! Well, so you all know what I want for my bday then, right LOL :D

I'll just have to droooool for now-but the next time I'm taking a few days off to relax I'm going to make myself one of the Birdie Sling Bags!

FINALIZE

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

Aaargh...It's such a bad word to me :D No, not really. Here is the FINAL design. Erick & I sat there for awhile at our planning meeting and tweaked a few things and added the AWESOME swirls.

Then--we like the idea of having a design on the back, but the Fonts we were using before do not go with the design--so here's the final:

So, now I'm working on getting it on 50 Ts for an affordable price :D.

Lately...

I have not had one moment that is not spoken for, but I want to reattempt to get this blog thing going again.

Today I took Jake and his friends to Starbucks on the way to their house for a sleepover. I was talking to the boys about this year's youth camp and asked them if they were excited. They asked me if I was doing the T-shirt design again and I told them that the theme this year is 'Recharged'. Jonathan said- "Why don't you use an energy drink can for the design?" BRILLIANT! That was such a FABULOUS idea!

I am so excited about working on the Quest T-shirt for this year! I had begun working on a first idea for this year's T-shirt about 4 days ago and ran out of time. Caleb has some SERIOUS Photoshop Skillz! He did the work on the realistic looking drink can while I worked on the design. I think it may end up with lightning bolts behind it. It also still needs the Scripture reference and some other minor details.
So--here is what came of that conversation:

Now--this is not going to be the T-shirt FOR SURE-because this year I am sharing this fun with Erick--but I think it's a great start even if it doesn't make the cut.
