Mawage

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Mawage...it is what bwings us tugevuh... This quote from Princess bride brings a smile to my face. Bob and I will be celebrating 17 years of wedded bliss next month. I am looking for a good picture of me for a journaling class and I came across this one. It was taken this year on our trip to Niagara Falls. My sister mentioned the movie "Fireproof" and I can't believe we haven't seen it yet. I will definitely be putting it on our Netflix.

Tipping my hat to Jessica Sprague's Type+Writer class, I will now make a themed list as a tribute to marriage, Our marriage that is:
Commitment
Friendship
Flirting
Arguing
Discussing
Planning
Enjoying
Experiencing
Caring
Serving
Talking
Loving

These are verbs. Marriage is a constant state of action and requires work and upkeep. I am so grateful for the man that God gave to me to be my husband. I would not be who I am today without him in my life. Through 'thick and thin', good times and bad, we are in it together and I look forward to the next 17 years + spending it with my love-Bob.

Pioneer Woman

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

My friend Andi Maddux told me about the "Pioneer Woman" website a long time ago, but I have never taken the time to download the actions for Photoshop.
These are SO cool!

This is the original:

This is the "Heartland" Action (After I photoshopped it with a texture layer and JSprague Clipping mask)

This is the 'Colorized' action

...is the feeling I have. I was just messing around with the photos I took and sent this to my friend Audra. She loved it and now it is her official baby announcement!

Cool! Jessica Sprague has a new class on her website that teaches us how to preserve our stories whether they are scrapbookable or NOT!

I HIGHLY recommend signing up for this!

Woot! Oh Shoot! Photography Course

Monday, September 15, 2008

Yippee!!! It starts today! I am so excited that I am actually going to learn to take my photography to an all new level! Just the opportunity to know what that M stands for and all the features and options on my Canon Digital Rebel XTi thrills me!

It is the one thing that I am doing for pure enjoyment to add something that doesn't have a deadline or add stress to my already chaotic life!

It is an online course by Candice Stringham. It is only available through JessicaSprague.com!

I'm sure I'll be posting some Fall photos here soon. The first photo tips are referring to evening outdoor lighting and I can kill 2 birds with one stone by taking a walk to the park and apply some new techniques!

...I'll keep you posted!

School's Out!

Thursday, June 5, 2008

I can't believe Summer is already here!
This means that Caleb is a JUNIOR in High School, Jacob IS in High School-- A Freshman!!! and our baby-Nate is in Middle School!!! No more Elementary School visits. *Sigh* Time marches on and every moment I treasure with my sweet boys.

Nate promptly called to see if he could stay at his friend's house and have a water balloon fight, Jacob made plans to go spend the night with his best friend, and Caleb worked on the garden and made sure he was ready for his first day in college tomorrow. How cool is that?!

Summer will fly by us with football camps, Boy Scout Camp, ACC courses, and a trip to San Antonio to have some family time. I am looking forward to capturing all these cool happenings on my new Canon Digital Rebel. I have watched the DVD twice, but I'm signing up for a beginning photography course with Candice Stringham on the new and improved Jessica Sprague website.

Her new and improved design ROCKS! I'm going to have to find me some time and do a custom design for my ajwdesigns site. I tried Joomla and it was PAINfully slow. I installed Wordpress but I have not had time to tweak it yet---YET!
