QUEST RECHARGED

Quest Was Awesome!!!

And now we return to our regularly scheduled programming--work.

I need about a week to just recap and recover and edit photos and video and process Quest this year. It was phenomenal.

I am so blessed by the love of the kids and their sweet, unconditional love. The team building and encouragement activities we did were spectacular. I finally "Blobbed" and had a great time hanging with Cio--yes, THE Cio :D

Here are a few pics:

College Here I Come!

Monday, July 14, 2008

I signed up for college today. As Caleb says--Woot! I finished my Surgical Technology Associates back in '02 and I'm finally taking the plunge to get my RN. It's a little scary with everything else going on around here, but it's the obvious next step. I can't work nights in L&D forever, right? :) I will be tackling Microbiolgy so that I can get my Bachelor's Degree instead of just taking Intro to Micro which would preclude me from being able to do a "Bridge" program and get an online BSN after I get my ADN. I will be class of 2010 just like my son--only he's graduating from high school. So-keep me in your prayers!

Jessica Sprague is awesome as usual with her newest Photshop Friday Post. I have altered my photos with Levels,Hue/Saturation, Unsharp Mask, etc. but her technique of using duplicate layers and then using Overlay & Screen are Soooo much faster!

Here is an original photo to work with:

And here is the altered one :D

Thank you Jessica!

Scrap Room

Monday, July 7, 2008

I'm getting ready to have the girls from Youth over to do some scrapping so I reorganized my Scrap Room. Nate wanted my folding table and I wanted the big white desk so we made the trade with Jake's help. I am so happy with the results! You can go Here
to see it :D

I have been collecting Michael's cubes with my 50% off coupons and waiting to have enough for a desk setup. I am really looking forward to spending time in here with the new organization.

Yummy Amy Butler

Thursday, July 3, 2008

A new discovery... I get emails from Cosmo Cricket and one thing led to another and VOILA! I'm in LOVE with Amy Butler Fabrics! I have been eyeing them on EBay and you can buy patterns and even kits! I'm currently resisting the temptation to buy some and make myself a bag---as we all know, I have a VERY limited amount of free time, so it's somewhat impractical to even consider having time to sew myself a new bag....BUT they are Sooo YUMMY!

Aaargh! Well, so you all know what I want for my bday then, right LOL :D

I'll just have to droooool for now-but the next time I'm taking a few days off to relax I'm going to make myself one of the Birdie Sling Bags!

Found a Printer!

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

Woo Hoo! The T-shirts are going to be printed in "4 Color Process" at Precision Screen Graphics in Round Rock, TX. We will get all the orders on Sunday and the Owner said he's let me come over and check out the first one off the press (is that what it's called?) Too exciting-I'll be sure to take my camera and post some pics. I'm so excited!

I just love pictures of kids in the pool.
Here's a good one of Jack

FAMILY

So, amidst this flurry of Design--My Mom & Grandma were here for a whirlwind visit. They hit 2 birthdays-David and Aaron's and my kids' Baptism while they were here. It was a really nice visit. I haven't been able to get out to the Northwest much and so it was Sooo nice for my Mom to bring Grandma here to us. Not many kids get to know their great-grandmother, so I thought it was a very unique opportunity.

Here are some Highlights:
David's 12th Birthday! Mmmm Chocolate Cake!

Grandma Trussell -Isn't she Great :)

FINALIZE

Aaargh...It's such a bad word to me :D No, not really. Here is the FINAL design. Erick & I sat there for awhile at our planning meeting and tweaked a few things and added the AWESOME swirls.

Then--we like the idea of having a design on the back, but the Fonts we were using before do not go with the design--so here's the final:

So, now I'm working on getting it on 50 Ts for an affordable price :D.

More T-shirt Mockups

The creative process is so interesting--sometimes you go through a million different ideas and really end up with something very different from what you started with. I got on the Instant Messenger with Erick on Friday night and we threw ideas back and forth:

The next direction :

We started working on the back:

I was really dragging and knew I needed to head to bed. I got up at 6 on Saturday and googled a tutorial on how to make a radial starburst in Illustrator and found this AWESOME website!!! You can check it out: Spoon Graphics So, not only did I learn cool shortcuts on how to make a radial sunburst in Illustrator--I got totally inspired :) So...Here's what I came up with.

But Erick and I had talked about an oval design--so:

My Mom & Grandma Arrived and I had to stop working on it, but I knew it was a definite step to being done.
